“Yabba Dabba Doo” is one catchphrase that instantly brings back memories of ‘The Flintstones’. As amusing characters the Flintstones were, they were just as fashionable. It is difficult to say whether the Flintstones fashion is dead or is yet to be born. Nonetheless, the clothes that they wore and accessories that they flaunted indeed had a tint of style and touch of olden days, the Stone Age days! Take a look at the style sense of the major characters. It truly is inspiring!

Fred Flintstone

That short-tempered fat guy from Flintstones, Fred, can be called as the trend setter of ‘Tie’ fashion. Fred always wore a blue colored tie around his neck and as a matter of fact, he even slept wearing it. Do you know what the best part about his tie is? Well, experts in the fashion industry are still trying to unknot the secret of Fred’s tie knot! Apart from his tie, other clothes on Fred’s body include a long cloak which once used to cover even his feet. But, the cloak had to be shortened to somewhere between knee and thigh length because it posed problems while driving (you’ll understand if you ever watched Flintstones). The so called cloak that Fred wears is said to be hand stitched by the most famous Italian fashion designer of the Stone Age, Surface.

Wilma Flintstone

The always cheerful woman with a beaming smile on the face, Wilma Flintstone, is another one of those fashion icons of the ancient era. Right from her hair, to the stunning white dress, everything that Wilma did instantly became the fashion trend in those times. Talking about her dress, it is white in color, probably made from chiffon and stretches out to the knees. The garment suits the slim figure of Wilma’s body and makes her look ravishing. It has a unique design of zigzag shaped cuts at the hem which adds up to the appeal of Wilma’s personality. Besides the clothes, Wilma and the three ‘pearls’ on her neck are inseparable entities! That beaded pearl necklace owned by Wilma Flintstone was the talk of the town in those times. It is said to have inspired many recent jewelry designers to start a necklace collection with Wilma as the brand ambassador. Wilma’s red hair is one of the other often discussed topics in the neighborhood of Flintstones. She has been asked by many about the product that she uses to color her hair in red but to no avail; Wilma still holds that secret with herself!

So, it is safe to say that the Flintstones were the fashion idols in year 15000 B.C (approximately). Their taste for fashion is renowned world over; they were even on Television! Many of you would be inspired after reading the article and are sure to have the Flintstones’ line of clothes in your wardrobe. But, one thing that would be missing is the footwear; unfortunately, Fred and Wilma never wore shoes, clippers or sandals. All in all, wearing an outfit encouraged by the Flintstones and going out on the street will certainly ‘attract’ numerous eyes towards you. (But remember that you are solely responsible for the outcomes in case you try this out!)
