Do you just adore taking old clothing and transform it into something new? You have never carried out that? It is very simple and can be done easily within short time. You can create a sweater-kind shirt that looks nothing like a sweatshirt by very first cutting off the neck band and waist band from the shirt.Fold the front in half and cut the shirt along the fold, from waist to the neck.

Now determine how you need the fattened shrug to look.

You can cut the waist of the sweatshirt to be reasonably short or somewhat longer. Along the front slit, you can leave the cut as it is, or do something unique. From the center of one side of the slit, cut at an angle up to the neckline. In the center point again, cut down to the waist, at an angle. Do this to the opposite side as well. This may make a shrug that forms an in-depth v-neck shirt that has an upside-down "v" shape from the center, down.

If you cut up the middle slit, then keep it as it is, you could hem it, stitch ribbon on every side of the slit, or even adjoin lace with needle or fabric glue and thread. In case you cut the slits to come to a point in the center, adjoin a braided yarn piece or ribbon so you could bind the shrug shut.

You've got options based on how you want the sleeves to appear, too. Cut and overlap the arms or sleeves to create them ¾ lengths or just cut off the cuffs and overlap them to create a long-sleeve shrug. For the bottom hem, center slit, neckline and sleeves, you may hem them or you may glue or sew on lace, rickrack, ribbon or another trim.

Fabric paints offer you a different option for embroidering the sweatshirt shrug. It's uncomplicated to dispense them from their tubes and they're not expensive. You don't need to be actually artistic to create designs on the shrug; make basic dots, brief lines, zigzag or squiggle marks and comparable shapes to make designs on the cut areas of the shrug.

Revamping an old sweatshirt into a new garment isn't tough to do plus the shrugs are simply adorable. Wear them as you'd wear a sweater, over a blouse or shirt, and put them on with jeans or skirts. They're warm and comfy and look fabulous.
