The Baftas Red Carpet Fashion of 2011 was in direct competition with both the New York Fashion Week and the Grammy Awards. In 2011 Baftas, three best-dressed women were over 50.

First one was Julianne Moore, who was Tom Ford's date for the night, so no astonishment she was wearing one of his designs. Julianne was wearing a strapless velvet blue gown with a large satin bow at the back. She perfectly accessorized her gown with blood-red lips and wavy hairstyle.

A 52 year-old Annette Bening, Julianne's co-star in The Kids Are All Right, looked stunning in her light-colored ornamented unsymmetrical gown. Her skin was glowing and she accentuated it with deep red lipstick and matching manicure. Tilda Swinton, 50, as usual bent the red carpet rules by wearing a spectacular Haider Ackerman dark black tuxedo with bubbly satin lapels. Her classy black tuxedo was perfectly matching her hair.

Apart from best-dressed women over 50, many women over 40 were also largely well dressed with Helena Bonham Carter wearing a sultry black outfit and polka-dot jacket, while Thandie Newton's beautiful and bold pinkish raised print gown was gracing the red carpet.

On the other end of the age spectrum, 22 year old Emma Stone was looking beautiful in an outstanding asymmetric Lanvin gown; Emma Watson, 20, whose un-symmetric frill cut, devoré Valentino gown was a big attraction of the event as well as 14 year-old Hailee Steinfeld, starring in True Grit pep up the red carpet with a sensational over-embellished Miu Miu attire with the hottest hem-length - the midi. Other far-famed success stories were Amy Adams' complete peach, ornamented Elie Saab dress; Jessica Alba's royal blue Versace dress and many more.
