When it comes to style and fashion, everyone seems to think that only celebrities, stylists and fashion bloggers seem to know how to dress. However, that isn't the case at all. Anyone can have a passion for fashion! In fact, let's take a look at five very fashionable well known athletes that you probably never thought had a sense of style!

First on our list happens to be Venus Williams. Whether it be stepping onto the court or heading to a fashion show, Venus never fails to impress the public with her wild outfits. In the 2010 French Open, Venus donned a skimpy, corset-like outfit with skin-toned undergarment which sparked on huge controversies. Right after graduating from fashion school, Venus William revealed the launch of her new clothing line, EleVen. Her line consists of affordable and versatile pieces of clothing that range from a variety of styles; the line consists of clothing that can be worn on the streets, and even on the tennis courts. The collection includes accessories, dresses, pants, shoes, and warm up suits.

Next on our list is Russian tennis player, Maria Sharapova. Not only is Maria a phenomenal tennis player, but this athlete has developed a keen interest over all things fashion. For the past few years, Maria has been attending many galas and launch party events such as the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Celebration and the Tiffany & Co. launch party in Tokyo. Besides attending numerous fashion related events, Maria has revealed her top 10 favorite accessories- number one on her list happens to be rings, and in particular, she states that she collects Tiffany rings. Just recently, Maria collaborated with shoe designer, Cole Haan and launched her own line of shoe wear. The collection consists of neutral colored heels and flats - perfectly chic to complete a fall outfit!

Daughter of famous boxer, Muhammad Ali takes on the next spot in our five fashionable female athletes segment. Laila's sense of style was first recognized on red carpet events. She wore the most glamorous dresses, and in no time was being seen on the "best dressed" lists for many publications. In 2010, Laila stepped onto the BET awards red carpet wearing a fun, tulle black and silver party dress designed by Tadashi Shoji. From party girl, to elegant and classy, Laila stormed the catwalk in an elegant red gown at the Heart Truth's Red Dress Fashion Show during Mercedes Benz Fashion week. In addition to attending New York Fashion Week and many other fashion related events, Laila has hosted "Fashion's night out" at Madison.

American auto racer Danica Patrick has been seen as one of the most stylish athletes barring the athletic world. When she's not too busy racing cars, Danica has been recognized as a well dressed female on the red carpet. Whenever she attends the ESPY awards, Danica always receives good feedback from fashionistas, complimenting her on her wardrobe choice. Danica's style seems simple and straight to the point; she doesn't add any crazy accessories or funky hairstyles, which might be the reason why she always ends up on the best dressed list. In addition to always being on the best dressed list, Danica also had the opportunity to attend the Heart's Truth Red Dress Fashion show during Mercedes Benz Fashion week where she wore a stunning red kaftan.

Last but not least is Serbian tennis player, Ana Ivanovic. Every year, anywhere Ana arrives, she is always sporting a cute, chic outfit. Loving to show off her height, Ana keeps in mind the number one rule that all girls like to follow: Always be classy and with that being said Ana loves wearing long feminine dresses, so she doesn't expose too much skin. Keeping in mind her passion for tennis, Ana has launched her own apparel set with Adidas. Her collection consists of tennis clothing for both men and women along with shoewear. Also just recently, Ivanovic and Yonex have paired up to launch a collection of tennis racquets and bags.

Well there you have it; whoever said that female athletes are not capable of being fashionable was totally wrong. As you can see from just the five female athletes we've chosen, each athlete has their own individual crazy sense of style when it comes to fashion trends.
