One of the many highlights of BIFF&BIL (Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair) that have pulled many sport lovers as well as local and foreign purchasers every year is ‘Sportswear Pavilion’. This year the pavilion will display product highlights including basketball apparel and sportswear cut with supersonic techniques. Other products will consist of accessories and apparel for tennis, golf and running, to name a few.

The ‘Sportswear Pavilion’ will attribute newest innovations and collections from 8 firms – all are placed in Thailand’s top ten sportswear exporters namely –Oriental Garment, V.T. Garment, Hong Seng Knitting, Thongthai Textile, Nice Apparel, Hi-Tech Apparel, Nan Yang Textile and Liberty Garment. Also, aside from lingerie, sportswear continues to be a product champion in the garment and fashion industry that can produce a huge income for.

Mr. Sukij Kongpiyacharn, President of Thai Garment Manufacturers Association, stated: “In 2010, Thailand registered revenue of $3,200 mn for apparel and garment export, dividing into $600 mn only for sportswear which was 20 % of the overall export revenue. It is anticipated that the overall export for apparel and garment products will increase by 5 to 10 % this year since in the first two months of 2011, the number has risen by 6 to 7 %.”

BIFF&BIL 2011 was held at IMPACT’s Challenger Halls 2 and 3. Overseas and fashion lovers enjoyed networking and sourcing during trade days April 20 to April22 while sports enthusiasts enjoyed buying and viewing products with bargained cost during April 23rd and 24th,, 2011.
